Through the integration of public art, a children’s maze and water features, the design for this Children's Hospital and garden creates an inviting place for visitors and patients to enjoy.
Confluence led the design efforts for creating a dedicated open space feature at a primary corner of Sanford Health’s large medical campus in Sioux Falls. The new Children’s Hospital and garden is placed on approximately five acres of land, incorporating a formal landscape arrangement that compliments the building's castle theme.
Open lawn areas are available to be used to support a variety of events and gatherings, while low growing shrubs were utilized to create a children’s maze at one end of the space. A water feature creates a backdrop for a larger than life bronze sculpture of the donor and children that serves as a primary focal point for this facility.
