Situated within an existing green space, this new facility incorporates art education, open gallery space and event amenities that creates a vibrant hub of creativity for the Wichita community.
Confluence led master planning and implementation efforts for this new campus and facilitated a series of visioning sessions and collaborative workshops with the owner and the multi-disciplinary design team. The vision, “A Park with a School in it,” was the guiding framework for development of the campus and arts center building.
The site master plan and architectural design capitalized on the expansive green space and open views to create the appearance of a series of pavilions set among broad sweeps of native Kansas landscape. Garden paths and large earthen berms were also integrated to create a peaceful garden experience for visitors while complimenting the surrounding private park space.
